Folk School Concerts
 

Folk School Concerts are open to the public. They are scheduled for most (but not all) Friday evenings at 7:30. The public is welcome to enjoy a public display of Folk School student crafts from 6:40-7:00 p.m. in the Keith House Community Room, where the concerts are held. Free Admission.

Bi-monthly Saturday Night Dances


Bi-monthly Saturday night dances at the John C. Campbell Folk School, 8-11 p.m. Contra and square dances for adults, children, beginners, singles, and couples, with live music and callers from near and far.  Visit the John C. Murphy Mornings

Music in the Shoppes of Murphy

Blessing of the Bikes

Visitors can take in the many natural and man-made wonders which Cherokee and Clay Counties have to offer with our Mountain Adventure Artists' Studio Tour. This popular weekend event is held in the spring and again in the fall. A variety of artists including painters, potters, photographers, woodworkers, quilters, and more will display their works at one many locations throughout the two counties.

49th Annual Wagon Train

The Murphy Hometown Christmas Celebration

Begins at 6 p.m. Friday, November 17th, wit ha tree-lighting ceremony, choirs, and hopefully, handbells. Andrews Annual Christmas Parade

This evening parade is sponsored by the Andrews Fire Department. Businesses, churches, school groups, clubs and civic organizations are encouraged to create a float in keeping with the chosen theme.

Love Lights A Tree Celebration

Honor your loved ones in an extra special way this year, with a Love Light. A variety of colored lights will adorn the stately pine tree on the grounds of the Andrews Chamber of Commerce at the Andrews Depot. All monies collected go to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. The lights, which are $5 each, can be purchased in memory of those who have died of cancer, died of other causes, or to honor cancer survivors, those serving in the military, or as a special honor of friends and family members. Names of those so honored are traditionally listed in the Christmas edition of The Andrews Journal.
